Hanover, Va. – On February 13, 2019, deputies responded to a business located in the 7400 block of Bell Creek Road in reference to a larceny. Two unknown suspects, a black male and black female, asked a cashier to reload eight gift cards with $500 on each.
The cashier was unable to complete the transaction on that many gift cards and was briefly distracted by the female suspect. The male suspect then reached over the register to complete the transaction by pressing a key on the register. Both suspects then gathered the two gift cards, totaling over $1,000. The suspects then visited another business and exchanged the gift cards for prepaid Visa cards.
