Hanover, VA – Today, July 19, 2018, at approximately 10:48 a.m., the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Hanover Fire-EMS responded to the 15000 block of Long Row Drive for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, units found a home that was fully engulfed in fire.
Fire units immediately began to attack the fire until an adult male body was located behind the structure. At that time, deputies moved in and located an adult male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Units then verified that no other person(s) were on the property. No suspects are being sought at this time.
Hanover Fire-EMS marked the fire under control at 1:32 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office is working this investigation in conjunction with the Hanover Fire Marshal’s Office. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
