HANOVER, Va. – On January 6, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office responded to the EVB Bank located in the 8100 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a reported robbery. Again, on April 20, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office responded to the EVB Bank for a second robbery committed by the same suspect.
After an extensive investigation, investigators identified the suspect to be Thomas Scott Snead, 61, of the 12000 block of Washington Highway, Ashland, Virginia.
On June 12, 2017, Thomas Scott Snead was taken into custody without further incident. Snead has been charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Snead is currently being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail with no bond.
“I am proud of the efforts of our investigative team and the efforts of our partners in the community for identifying the suspect. Although an arrest has been made, we will continue to make sure all evidence is identified to ensure support of a successful prosecution,” said Colonel David R. Hines.
