An awards and promotional ceremony honoring members of the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and our community was held yesterday, Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 5 p.m. at the Hanover County Administration Building located at 7497 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069.
A total of 113 individuals from the Sheriff’s Office and the community were recognized for their outstanding efforts and contributions in making Hanover County a safe place to live, work and raise a family. Award recipient categories were Citizen Recognition, Excellent Service to Law Enforcement, The Ruby Turner Award, Unit Citations, Meritorious Service, Excellent Service, Silver Star, Animal Control Officer of the Year, Volunteers of the Year, Explorer of the Year, Reserve Officer of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Officer of the Year. Also, three deputies received promotions to the rank of Sergeant.
Deputies were joined by family, friends, and members of the community to celebrate the many accomplishments of those committed to excellent service and community partnerships.
The Sheriff’s Office is extremely grateful to the Hanover Chamber of Commerce and the business community for their sponsorship of this event for the fifth year in a row. We would also like to thank the Hanover Chamber of Commerce for their generous donation to the Hanover Sheriff’s Office Foundation.
