Hanover, Va. – On Friday, December 30, 2016, at approximately 10:07 a.m. the Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash in the 7400 block of Rural Point Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1996 Ford Explorer, occupied by only the driver, was travelling east on Rural Point Road, ran off the right shoulder of the roadway and collided with a tree.
The driver of the 1996 Ford Explorer, Brandon James Peddicord, 18, of Mechanicsville was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Investigators are still collecting information and consulting with the Medical Examiner to determine the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
